I am writing this review in support of Laney (Mustang Ranch) who was recently nominated for 2024 Courtesan Rookie of the Year (RCOY). I have known Laney a little less than a year now but she has shown that she really stands out in the competition for RCOY. It seems to me that most of the new Ladies come to the Ranch with a lot of uncertainty since they don't know whether it will work out or not. They don't show their face, give few details about themselves and have a very limited social media presence. Laney, on the other hand approached the opportunity with the attitude that she was going to make it work and she has been very successful. Laney recently had a 2 girl party with a lady who she had never worked with before. At the end, the lady said, wow, nice work. I wasn't expecting that.
Until recently, Laney had a very robust social media presence on Instagram but unfortunately someone, who may have been jealous of her success, reported her as being inappropriate and the account was suspended. While the suspension is being appealed she created an abbreviated replacement. While I am asking people to vote for Laney, I am also encouraging you to book her for parties. You won't be disappointed on either count.

Well, it looks like Laney won't be allowed to compete for 2024 RCOY. Although she began working in 2024 she was nominated for RCOY last year. Without any due diligence she was allowed to remain on the ballot but was unsuccessful. This year when I nominated her for RCOY, "the holdovers from the Biden DOJ" determined that since she was nominated last year (but not eligible) she couldn't remain on the ballot for 2024.Through an administrative problem with LPIN and no fault of her own she won't be able to compete in the proper year. "The Biden administration" is the gift that just keeps giving lol.

That’s a load of Crap!
It’s not her fault she was nominated a year early & she was a rookie in 2024!
Laney was not my nomination but she is very deserving of the award. I’ve had a couple parties with her & sing her praises!
This shows once again why waiting so long into the year to do the awards is problematic!
Start the process in Feb & have awards banquet in April. No need to wait 4 months to start then wait til the years 1/2 over to announce a winner from the previous year. Hell by that time a Lady could have left the business!
As for Rookie of the year. Now we have to verify start date of each Lady prior to nominations?!? Stupid! I wasn’t a fan of this added category to begin with & with this Latest BS it confirms it should have never been introduced!

Thank you. Laney was my nominee for RCOY in 2024 so through no fault of either Laney or me, I wasted my nomination. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated instance. Last year, Stevie was nominated for RCOY although she started working in 2024, but I knew her and pointed it out to the Board, and she was removed. I didn't know Laney at that point so I couldn't do the same for her. What if Laney had won the voting for RCOY in 2023. Would they have stripped her of the title since she wasn't eligible?

The LPIN Awards nominating round announcement states that registered voters are responsible to ensure their COY and RCOY nominees are eligible. However, in reality it appears that voters may nominate Courtesans with whom they are not familiar. The awards committee requests qualification information from various sources including the Courtesans' brothels, but the specifics on Stevie and Laney did not provide the essential relevant data. Brothel administration attempts to provide accurate information, but they have limited time to devote to outside entities since their priority is running businesses. The State of Nevada doesn't readily offer the necessary facts, and Courtesans' brothel work permits are issued under their legal names anyway. RCOY nominees must have worked during a portion of the award year, but may not have been nominated previously; furthermore, Courtesans may not have started their LPIN careers over two years prior regardless of their working names. The awards committee only has 3 days between the nominating and preliminary rounds to verify approximately 50 Courtesans in the three categories. Once a voting round begins, it can't be aborted and restarted for everyone to vote again since there is limited time available; besides, everyone would undoubtedly not vote again, so it wouldn't resolve the issue. The awards committee will decide if RCOY will be included in the LPIN 2025 Awards contest at the Annual Reno Meeting.

My heart sank a little when I read that the RCOY might be taken off the table for the ladies. I hope you’ll allow me to share just how much this recognition truly means to us. It’s not just an award — it’s something that lifts our spirits, reminds us that we’re valued, and makes us feel proud of the work we do.
I am not eligible for the award, so this is not coming from a selfish plea, this is just from the tiny personal experiences I know and have seen from ladies.
When the nominations come out, there’s a real sense of excitement among the ladies — like kids at Christmas, looking at the list with hope and joy. It gives us something beautiful to look forward to, and it makes all the long days and hard work feel seen and appreciated. The ceremony, the recognition, the feeling of being celebrated — it matters more than words can say.
So please, as you consider what to do moving forward, I hope you’ll keep in your hearts how much this means to the women here. It’s a nomination that brings light, motivation, and a deep sense of pride.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart — and on behalf of so many of us — for the time, effort, and care you put into making us feel appreciated. The Mustang ladies are truly grateful for all your consideration and all you do for us.

I think that it's important that the Board retain the RCOY category for 2025. This category is a chance to recognize new ladies for their efforts. The job of determining whether a lady fulfills the qualifications for a particular category should be left to the Brothel. They are the ultimate beneficiary if a lady wins one of the categories so they should be an active participant. Yes, the Brothel is in the business to make money and these awards are part of making that happen. I think that the qualification process should be formalized and done for every lady who is nominated. The brothel has the information and the manpower to do it. Improve the qualification process and don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

You are grandstanding and NOT relating the truth. Additionally, the awards committee are not socialists and your political comments are derogatory, impertinent and extremely improper. Furthermore, political and religious comments on forums are for the most part prohibited.
The awards committee can't dictate the process brothels utilize to verify Courtesans' eligibility or the accuracy of that information, since they work for the brothel owners and not us. There are only three awards committee members, and we can't allocate an hour of time to verify each one of an estimated 50 yearly nominees since it is not feasible. You are being idealistic in your criticism and attempting to Monday morning quarterback the situation.
The initial brothel administration information received regarding Laney and Stevie was that they both worked as Courtesans in 2023; subsequently, Stevie was later removed from the ballot, since it was discovered that she started in 2024 instead.
However, the awards committee was not apprised of Laney's ineligibility at that time. Laney was listed on the LPIN 2023 Awards preliminary round RCOY ballot, but she didn't receive sufficient votes to advance to the final round. Furthermore, Laney was not removed from the 2023 awards ballot.
Laney was nominated for both LPIN 2024 Awards COY and RCOY; however, she was deemed ineligible for 2024 RCOY, since she was nominated in 2023 and remained on that ballot. Laney was not removed from the LPIN 2024 Awards RCOY ballot, since she was never listed on it.
The awards committee received information from you on April 27, 2025 that Laney started in 2024 and should not have been a 2023 RCOY nominee. However, the LPIN 2024 Awards preliminary round was in progress and over halfway completed. The LPIN 2024 Awards preliminary RCOY round would definitely not be aborted to start over including Laney; instead, if your information was confirmed, she would be allowed to compete the following year. Although, Laney is currently a 2024 awards COY finalist, and would be ineligible for 2025 RCOY if she wins 2024 COY.
The awards committee will not strip a winner of an award, since the winners of contests are deemed official and permanently binding by the awards committee regardless of unforeseen circumstances except fraud or illegal acts of course.
The awards committee will determine if RCOY will remain in the contest next year. The first RCOY winner quit before the awards banquet, so new Courtesans may be less likely to continue in the business. Therefore, it may make more sense to separate COY into Urban and Rural categories (COY and RBCOY), since this was done for brothels in 2001; thus, we have BOY and RBOY.
